Classroom Projects for the 2012 Spring Gala

The Family Association would like to thank all the room parents and teachers who worked so hard on the Classroom Projects for the 2012 Spring Gala. Here is what these amazing people helped the children create for the auction.

Children’s House 1

“Happiness Is . . .”  A framed collection of twenty-two, three-to six- year old’s individual fingerprint pictures that depict what happiness means.

Children’s House 2

Twenty-four individual thumb prints make up the Children House 2 Peace Dove.  Each child chose their own paint color to use to stamp their print, overlapping one another, representing unity, harmony and peace.

Children’s House 3

The children in CH3 hand-wove a beautiful, textured tapestry in various shades of blue. The children selected which materials to use for each strip and employed their new weaving abilities to create this unique work of art.

Children’s House 4

Each child in CH 4 is creating a 6×6 found object/mixed media collage.  These individual pieces will be incorporated into one large collage measuring approximately 32″x32″. The entire collage will be painted gold, to create one unified eye catching piece of 3 dimentional art.

Children’s House 5

“You Are My Sunshine” is the theme of this one of a kind work of art featuring the children’s drawings and handwriting.

Primary 1

The Primary 1 children have written beautiful poems to be included in a classroom poetry collection.  A variety of poems from each child, including haikus and other styles, will be accompanied by a professional, black and white portrait of each child.  The collection will be bound in a 12 x 12 inch hard cover coffee table book and will be signed by the authors.  (After the auction, smaller, paperback versions with only one poem per child will be available for purchase as an additional fundraiser.)

Primary 2

This is a wood PEACE calendar which will include interchangeable pictures of Peace as represented by the students of P2. This calendar will never go out of style and is reuseable year after year.

Primary 3

The children of P3 have created a hand-painted wood garden with a coordinating watering can. They also lovingly decorated 21 packets of herb, flower, and vegetable seeds.

Middle School

“A Fan for All Seasons” Stadium Blanket – A 50″x60″ Stadium blanket decorated with original seasonal artwork by the students and teachers of Middle School. This blanket is perfect for the big game whether you’re watching it in the Horseshoe or from your sofa!

ERD

By working together as a team, the Erdkinder class created an interesting painting of a peacock with the help of a simple grid system. Each student was assigned to a square within the painting, and could use the style of their choice to finish this interesting acrylic creation.
